IMAP is an Internet standard protocol used by email clients and it stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. IMAP is used to retrieve the email from other sources. IMAP servers allow users to see email messages through an email client or application, like Outlook, Apple Mail, Windows Mail, or others. Now let’s see about Cox mail IMAP setting.
The steps for IMAP server setting for setting up Cox Email are given below: Set account type to IMAP Set your Email Address (For Ex: user@domain.com) as your username Set your Email account password as your password Set imap.cox.net as the server hostname Set server port to 993 Set required authentication to yes. Here Email account username and password is required Set SSL/TLS to Yes Cox Mail SMTP Setting SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. It is an Internet standard for electronic mail (email) transmission. SMTP is used to send e-mail messages between servers. Most e-mail systems that send mail over the Internet use SMTP to send messages from one server to another.
The steps for SMTP server setting for setting up Cox Email IMAP settings are given below: Set account type to SMTP Set your Email Address (For Ex: user@domain.com) as your username Set your Email account password as your password Set smtp.cox.net as the server hostname Set server port to 587 Set required authentication to yes. Here Email account username and password is required Set SSL/TLS to Yes steps for manual setup of Cox mail using IMAP and SMTP on Android Devices : Start by choosing the Mail icon from your applications screen. And then put the email address and email password. Select Manual Setup
Choose IMAP
If you have chosen IMAP, make sure to enter the below settings and click Next
Set IMAP Server as imap.cox.net Set Security type to None Set Port to 143 for IMAP Secure – Port: 993 and Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates) Insecure – Port: 143 and Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
Enter the below outgoing SMTP Settings for COX.NET and click Select Next
Set SMTP Server as smtp.cox.net Set Security type to None Set Port to 587 for outgoing SMTP Outgoing (SMTP) Secure = Port: 465 for and Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates) Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Secure = Port: 587 and Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates) Outgoing (SMTP) = Port: 25 and Security Type: None (Accept all certificates) Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Insecure = Port: 587 and Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
